Rides
There are almost forty amazing rides at la Ronde, which are sure to keep kids and adults of any ages busy for an entire day at least! The rides are divided into thrill rides, intermediates, family rides (kid friendly) and panoramic rides.
Thrill Rides:
Examples of the 11 thrill rides available at la Ronde include:
Goliath: Inaugurated in 2006, Goliath is clearly La Ronde’s most frightening, tummy-churning ride of all. This monstrous roller coaster is over 53 meters in height and takes passengers plunging down 52 meters before rushing them through a 1200-meter route at speeds that top 110 km/hour! Costing nearly $18.5 million to construct, there is no doubt that Goliath is La Ronde’s pride and beauty!
Cobra: The Cobra ride is unique in that passengers stand up in the cars (secured with safety harnesses, of course!) while they are taken whooping through a thrilling track that includes 360 degree loops!
Intermediates:
There are seven intermediate or ‘light’ thrill rides available at La Ronde, and they include:
Auto Tamponnueses: A delightful bumper car ride that thrills with its cool features.
Splash: This ride takes passengers plunging over a 15-meter waterfall, soaking them with a five-meter wave as they come splashing down!
Family Fun:
Kids (and their parents) will love the choice of 14 different child-friendly rides at La Ronde, and the offering includes:
Air Papillon: A giant butterfly that swings little passengers eight meters high while imitating the motion of fluttering wings. Kids delight in the beauty and thrill of this ride.
Tschou Tschou: Eight train wagons follow each other on a track as they chug along, each holding two adults or three smaller children.
Panoramic:
There is no better way to enjoy the beauty of the Montreal than by taking a panoramic ride at La Ronde amusement Park.
Spirale: This glass circular elevator, first constructed as part of the Expo 67, whisks passengers up to 240 feet in only one minute, affording them the perfect view of their surroundings, before shooting back down again. |
